Flat Stanley Visits Pennsylvania!

Flat Stanley made it to the Keystone State! We had fun reading the book for the first time. Here are some of his adventures with us.

First he went with us to a local creek and we collected tadpoles. Now we are having fun feeding them cooked spinach and waiting for them to "morph".

He also enjoyed going rolling blading with us.

Finally, Flat Stanley had fun going on a mini trip to Hershey, Pennsylvania to ride the rides, learn how Hershey makes their yummy chocolate, and of course we sampled some!

He's excited for his next stop in Arkansas!

More Pics from Flat Stanley in Alabama!!!

Here are some more pics from when Flat Stanley visited the Smith Family in Alabama!!

Flat Stanley Goes to Alabama!!!!

We took Flat Stanley on a tour around the square in downtown Monroeville, Alabama. The City of Monroeville is promoted as the literary capitol of Alabama. It is also the home of Harper Lee, author of To Kill a Mockingbird, and Truman Capote, another well-known author. The courtroom in our old courthouse, which is now called Monroe County Heritage Museum, was used as the model for the courtroom in the movie 'To Kill A Mockingbird'. This also happens to be the time of year that the 'To Kill A Mockingbird' play is going on. Some of the pictures are from the set. In one of the pictures it looks like Stanley wants to audition for a part in the play. He also enjoyed having a look around the old courthouse and courtroom. And he was really impressed by the mural that depicts a scene from the book.

We also took Flat Stanley to one of our favorite stops on the square, Beehive Coffee and Books. It's a quaint little bookstore that has yummy Italian cream sodas. He had lots of fun browsing around the store.

Thanks Smith Family!!!!!! He is headed to Pennsyvlania next!! :)

Flat Stanley Starts his adventure in........

The Kaylor family, took Flat Stanley around to some of the fun places in our town!
Hannibal is a neat place to live, it is the boyhood home of Mark Twain, the famous author who wrote books like, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer! We love to live right on the Mississippi River and pretend like we are Tom Sawyer, Becky Thatcher and Huck Finn!!! We like to go fishing ( we never catch anything, hehe ) and it is so fun to live right beside the Famous Mark Twain Cave! Did you know Hannibal is also the birthplace of the "unsinkable Molly Brown" the famous Titanic Survivor??
Here are some fun pictures of Flat Stanley ( who is actually from our friend Zack Smith!) and some of the fun things we did!!!!!
